- Alex was a smoker back in these days, more specifically he smoked cigars and hated weed.
- Due to how much I hated Undertale back in the day, I implemented something in game to mock the player for escaping battles way too much, but I was gonna go further and have the game punish the player for even going on a pacifist route. (Speaking of that, I FORGOT that I pretty much left out that piece of code in builds 1.0.7 - 1.2.0, which means you were still mocked in game if you manage to spare 225 foes.)
- The story was almost the same as the prototype and alpha's but revised. Alex was in a group of teens who were against a specific indie game publisher.
- Tyrone Rodriguez was just going to be the same as The Doctor from Cave Story. My sprite artist had fun designing his boss battles.
- Not only did Xale from Conan the Condemned (another Cave Story fan work of mine) appear in the Alpha, but he was also going to appear in the Beta too as one of the antagonists yet again.
- Just like the prototype and Alpha, the story and setting took place in Santa Ana, California.
- Su- from the Cave Story Beta had a notable role in there, too.
- During earlier times, instead of him acquiring a gun, Alex was just going to have an Uyghur Knife.
- In earlier builds, the game showed actual screenshots of Nicalis's Headquarters in real life.
- Also like how it was in the prototype and Alpha, Alex loved Chako a LOT.
- Piyo was just a humanoid back in the Beta, and he was going to die through a guillotine execution because he betrayed Xale and the Toroko Bandits.
- Earlier versions of the Beta once had Easy, Normal, and Hard difficulties. Later on, I changed it to Normal and Scarlet difficulties before scrapping it all together. (Scarlet Mode was just simply Yandere Alex mode.)
- Before there was the drawing of Chako's ass in game, there was this edgy and dark "dream log" from the early beta where Alex recalls a nightmare where he was stabbed to death by Chako.
- Serif.... We don't talk about those versions of Serif, except for the one that liked to sleep a lot. He was a chill Soa at best.
- Before you had that one shapeshifter we're all familiar with, we had Viktor. He went from just another Sue fan to... Hang on, let my friend just say it best.. Somebody that looks like a "Creepypasta character".
- Before there was the boss battle with Arthur, the boss instead used to be... Ugh. That stupid fucking "Crimson Edge" character from the Alpha.
- Doodrun has done let's plays of the Alex Anomaly Betas since he was apart of the only many people who were able to play it back when the game was in earlier development.
- A massive chunk of unused data from the pre-reset builds are still left in the post-reset Alex Anomaly builds.
- There was also this mysterious character named Kaine in the early stages of the Beta that I don't really remember much about, other than he was the unfortunate spirit of a Sue fan who wielded a similar blade to Piyo's.
